Immediate Goals

Defund A.P.D. by 50% for FY 2021.
An open and accessible budget process which includes consideration for different accessibility needs, including but not limited to language, mobility, vision, auditory, etc.
Adopt CCU’s People’s R.E.A.L. budget framework as a first step
A robust 5-year plan for defunding, divestment, and disbandment of the APD
Create a 10 year plan to defund policing across Austin and Travis County and invest that money back into community needs such as: housing, public health and wellness, education, harm reduction, food security, transformative and restorative justice, child and youth development, etc.
